Why don’t you have big name certifications like IASC and USDA?

Short Answer: Our standards surpass these certifications, and it saves you money.

Long Answer

The following video is an International Aloe Science Council (IASC) certified facility demonstrating the process of aloe vera processers. This certification is the “gold standard” for aloe vera products.

What you see in this video is worth a thousand words. The IASC guidelines can be helpful for the quality of long shelf-life aloe drinks. Therefore, we give them credit for setting standards for the aloe community. However, the end result is not a raw untainted whole food containing the most healing properties. WE DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE PRACTICES. Thus, why would we pay thousands of dollars yearly for such a certification? Please see Our Processing for details.

Honest Aloe Standards;

end product is fresh, raw, and perishable

hand fileted process time under one hour

chemical fertilizers never used in farming

100% pure raw inner leaf gel only = nothing added, filtered, or pasteurized

IASC Certification Allows;

shelf life of months to years

process takes many hours to days

end product is heavily touched and processed

chemical fertilizers recommended four times a year for faster growth

processing whole leaf or whole plant using many chemical additives and heating

Our aloe gel drinks do not sit on the shelf for months or years. In addition, we meet or exceed IASC standards. Therefore, we feel it is better to keep that money in your pocket rather than pay unnecessary fees.

Similarly, our farm exceeds USDA organic standards. The USDA gives a two week notice prior to arrival for yearly checks. Why do they give such a long notice? If there is nothing to hide, why not a random visit? Inorganic practices can easily be hidden in a two week time frame. Furthermore, this opens the door for shady and questionable practices. Besides, the USDA allows loopholes to use chemicals during “exceptional” times.

For example, in 2018, strawberry farmers in California were allowed to use pesticides that were not permitted due to an out-of-control bug problem. Yet these farmers had no responsibility to notify the public, continued to label the harvest “organic,” and still kept their “organic” USDA status.

In contrast, at Honest Aloe, we use 100% inner leaf aloe gel. Our farming practices are chemical fertilizer free. We minimally process, never adding chemical preservatives, fillers, or other contaminants. Equally important, we do not filter, and we freeze to keep our aloe vera gel fresh.

We can keep costs lower for you by not spending thousands of dollars in yearly dues by simply keeping our farm Honest.

Cheers to YOUR health!
